People from all walks of life in Bangladesh\u2014students, activists, and ordinary citizens\u2014have taken to the streets in powerful support of the “World Stops for Gaza” campaign, demanding an immediate end to the Israeli genocide in Palestine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The protest activities included strikes at educational institutions and workplaces, as well as demonstrations in Dhaka and other districts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Monday, university students in Bangladesh announced a peaceful strike in solidarity with Gaza by refraining from attending classes or participating in academic activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As part of the campaign, <\/strong>Dhaka University suspended classes and exams, and university offices were closed from 9am to 11am on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Students from various schools, colleges, and medical institutions, along with the public, gathered at the TSC (Teacher-Student Centre) of Dhaka University (DU) to begin the protest. As of the writing of this report, the protest is still ongoing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n During the protest, students and the public called for a boycott of Israeli products and urged everyone to unite in the fight to make Palestine independent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n They shouted various slogans such as “Naraye Takbir, Allahu Akbar,” “We want to fight, we wan to live by fighting,” “Muslims of the world, unite and fight,” “One, Two, Three, Four. Israel no more,” among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Meanwhile, officials and employees from various organizations staged a protest march on Monday at the Science Lab intersection in the capital, denouncing Israeli aggression in Gaza.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Carrying placards and banners with slogans like \u201cFree Palestine\u201d and \u201cStop Killing in Gaza,\u201d the protesters marched peacefully. <\/p>\n\n\n\n While the demonstration caused some temporary traffic disruptions, the situation remained under control due to the presence and efforts of law enforcement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n As of 12pm, protestors were still seen marching in the area.
