Former student leaders with a nationalist ideology have strongly condemned what they describe as the infiltration of Jamaat ideology into the administration of Patuakhali Science and Technology University (PSTU).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Friday evening, an emergency meeting was held at the Krishibid Institute, where the former leaders gathered to protest against the alleged \u201cJamaatization\u201d of the university\u2019s administration
The discussion focused on the recent resignation of BNP-leaning teacher leader and Student Affairs Deputy Advisor Dr. A. B. M. Saiful Islam, and the subsequent appointment of a Jamaat-affiliated teacher as Director of Student Affairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The former student leaders stated that during the Awami \u201cfascist\u201d regime, Dr. A. B. M. Saiful Islam was among the most politically victimized individuals at PSTU. They accused the administration of undermining him and violating regulations by favoring a Jamaat-linked teacher instead.
They further alleged that attempts to \u201cJamaatize\u201d the administration have been increasing in recent times. Although the university has been declared free from political activities, they claimed that covert Jamaat-Shibir politics is being promoted with both direct and indirect support from the administration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The leaders warned that if this trend continues, they will submit a memorandum to the Ministry of Education and the University Grants Commission (UGC).
The protest statement was signed by over one hundred former leaders of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party\u2019s student wing (Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal) from PSTU. Notable signatories include Kamruzzaman Jony, Shafiullah Majumder Kiran, Shafiqul Islam Shafik, Mohibur Rahman Biplob, Sharif Hossain Khan, Rohen Akter Munna, Akand M. S. A. Asad, S. M. Niaz Morshed, Salauddin Riyaz, Saiduzzaman Manik, Shamsul Haque Md. Miraj, Mehedi Hasan (Mohsin), Russell Mia, Monirul Haque Jony, and Abdullah Al Bakki, among others.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
