{"id":5909,"date":"2025-12-27T07:23:15","date_gmt":"2025-12-27T07:23:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thedhakajournal.com\/?p=5909"},"modified":"2025-12-27T07:23:17","modified_gmt":"2025-12-27T07:23:17","slug":"tarique-rahman-offers-prayer-at-hadis-grave","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thedhakajournal.com\/?p=5909","title":{"rendered":"Tarique Rahman offers prayer at Hadi&#8217;s grave"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman today offered prayers at the grave of Sharif Osman Hadi, spokesperson of Inqilab Moncho, near the Dhaka University Central Mosque.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He later also prayed at the grave of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam, located in the same area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir had reached the grave premises earlier and accompanied Tarique during the visit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tarique left his Gulshan Avenue residence around 10:40am in a white bulletproof SUV and arrived at the Dhaka University campus at about 11:15am under tight security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After paying his respects, he is scheduled to go to the Election Commission office to complete his National Identity Card (NID) registration and enlist himself as a voter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hadi, spokesperson of Inqilab Moncho and a prominent figure of the July uprising, was shot on December 12, a day after the Election Commission announced the schedule for the next national election. He was airlifted to Singapore for advanced treatment, where&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thedailystar.net\/news\/bangladesh\/news\/sharif-osman-hadi-no-more-4061841\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">he died on the night of December 18<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His death sparked widespread outrage and calls for swift and exemplary punishment of those responsible.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman today offered prayers at the grave of Sharif Osman Hadi, spokesperson of Inqilab Moncho, near the Dhaka University Central Mosque.
