{"id":6246,"date":"2026-03-15T15:36:50","date_gmt":"2026-03-15T15:36:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thedhakajournal.com\/?p=6246"},"modified":"2026-03-15T15:36:53","modified_gmt":"2026-03-15T15:36:53","slug":"khaleda-zia-was-a-symbol-of-national-unity-nazimuddin-alam","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thedhakajournal.com\/?p=6246","title":{"rendered":"Khaleda Zia was a symbol of national unity: Nazimuddin Alam"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Special Correspondent:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>BNP Chairperson\u2019s Adviser and former Member of Parliament Nazim Uddin Alam has said that former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia was a symbol of national unity who united the people of the country through her multifaceted contributions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He made the remarks on Sunday (March 15) while speaking as the chief guest at a program organized by the Boishommo Protirodh Foundation in Nayapaltan, where prayers were offered seeking eternal peace for Khaleda Zia\u2019s soul.Nazim Uddin Alam said Khaleda Zia rose from being a housewife to becoming a stateswoman and succeeded in bringing people of the country together through her leadership. He added that she would always remain in the hearts of the nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He further said whenever questions of democracy, patriotism, and sincere service to the people arise in Bangladesh, people will remember Khaleda Zia. \u201cShe always stood beside the people, especially farmers, workers, and the working class. She fought on the streets to establish democracy,\u201d he added.<br>General Secretary of Bangladesh National Awami Party (NAP) M. Golam Mostafa Bhuiya said Khaleda Zia was a symbol of national unity and democracy. Throughout her life, she carried out uncompromising struggles to protect democracy, people\u2019s rights, and the country\u2019s independence and sovereignty. \u201cShe never bowed to any authoritarian government and established herself as an uncompromising leader,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In his presidential speech, Md. Zahirul Islam Kolim said Khaleda Zia, the first female Prime Minister of Bangladesh, remained uncompromising on the issues of democracy and people\u2019s rights.The event was chaired by Md. Zahirul Islam Kolim, President of the organization and Editor of the daily newspaper Daily Kholabazar.
