Opened on April 24, 2026, at La Galerie, Alliance Fran\u00e7aise de Dhaka, the exhibition marks a significant milestone in the artist\u2019s journey. It brings together around 36 works in watercolour and acrylic, each rooted in memory, lived experience, and a deep connection to place. The collection reflects Ahasen\u2019s personal narrative, shaped by his upbringing in rural Bangladesh and his gradual transition into urban life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The exhibition presents scenes drawn from familiar landscapes. Earthen roads, quiet canals, riverbanks, and agrarian surroundings appear throughout the works. These images are not imagined abstractions; they are grounded in observation and recollection. The lives of ordinary people and their everyday environments take central focus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
ImaAhasen\u2019s work also explores the shift from rural openness to the structured pace of city life. This transition appears subtly across the collection, emerging through density, texture, and atmosphere rather than dramatic visual contrast.ge<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The exhibition serves as a personal document of growth. Ahasen\u2019s journey into art did not follow a conventional academic path. He completed his Mawlana degree from a Qawmi madrasah in 2014. Despite the absence of formal training in fine arts, he pursued his creative instincts with determination. Over time, his dedication led him to participate in several national and international exhibitions, including the Friendship Art Exhibition and the Kahal International Art Exhibition in Dhaka, as well as the Kahal International Art Fair in Tokyo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His process reveals a strong internal discipline. Before transferring ideas onto canvas, he develops them mentally, allowing images to form within his subconscious before taking visible shape. This approach reflects a method rooted in patience and reflection. Influenced by guidance from artists such as Kamal Uddin, his practice continues to evolve with a sense of movement and fluidity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The opening ceremony was attended by eminent artist Professor Jamal Ahmed as chief guest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The exhibition remained open to visitors until April 26, from 2:00pm to 8:00pm daily.
