After a long three-year legal and regulatory battle, the Adani Group has recovered $150 billion in market value in global capital markets. The conglomerate has achieved remarkable success in the stock market, overcoming the fallout from the controversial report by US-based research firm Hindenburg Research and all manner of global challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The development was reported recently by US-based media Bloomberg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Such a success by the multinational industrial group, owned by Indian billionaire Gautam Adani, is significant not only for the Indian market but also bodes well for the continuity of uninterrupted power supply in Bangladesh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A major role in the group’s success has been played by its listed entity, Adani Power. The market capitalisation of the company, which supplies electricity to Bangladesh, has now crossed $50 billion, with its share price climbing nearly 75 percent so far this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Adani Power is supplying up to nearly 1,500 megawatts of electricity to Bangladesh as per demand, playing a major role in maintaining the stability of the country’s national grid. Power supplied from Adani’s Godda power plant in Jharkhand is playing a special role in keeping the country’s industrialisation and economic wheels turning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Following Hindenburg’s 2023 report alleging corporate malpractice and fraud, nine companies owned by the Adani Group had faced losses of around $150 billion. After a prolonged struggle, Adani has now fully recouped that massive loss, with the group’s combined market value now standing at nearly $200 billion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to market analysts, several recent international developments have accelerated Adani’s turnaround. In particular, global investor confidence has risen sharply after the US Department of Justice dropped the criminal charges brought against Adani. World-renowned investment firms such as Capital Group have already begun making fresh, substantial investments in the Adani Group.
