The Anvir Bashundhara Group Foundation has stepped forward to support the treatment of 25-year-old burn victim Rakib Hossain after his family’s desperate appeal on Facebook drew the attention of the foundation’s chairman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rakib, the son of hotel worker Abdur Rahim from Sonakhali village in Mathbaria upazila of Pirojpur, works as a tree cutter. His family’s livelihood depends on the earnings of both father and son.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Recently, while cutting a tree, Rakib accidentally came into contact with a live electric wire, suffering severe burns to parts of his body. After receiving initial treatment at a local hospital, he was referred to Barishal and later transferred to the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery in Dhaka for advanced medical care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, the family struggled to bear the mounting medical expenses. With no other option, Abdur Rahim shared his son’s condition in a Facebook post, seeking help from the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The post caught the attention of the chairman of the Anvir Bashundhara Group Foundation, who immediately instructed the foundation to ensure that Rakib received urgent financial assistance for his treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Sunday (July 5), the foundation’s Coordinator, Md. Amir Hossain Mia, visited the hospital and handed over financial assistance to Rakib’s father.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Expressing his gratitude, Abdur Rahim said his son had suffered serious injuries after being electrocuted while cutting a tree, leaving parts of his body severely burned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Our family was unable to afford the treatment costs. I shared a post on Facebook asking for help. The Anvir Bashundhara Group Foundation contacted us and has now provided financial assistance for my son’s treatment. I am deeply grateful to them. May Allah bless them,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rakib’s recovery remains uncertain as he continues to receive treatment. According to his brother, Rakib has already undergone surgery on one of his hands, while most of his body remains covered in bandages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Foundation Coordinator Md. Amir Hossain Mia said the financial assistance was provided under the direct instruction of the foundation’s chairman after he saw Rakib’s photographs and news reports circulating on Facebook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The chairman immediately instructed us to arrange the necessary treatment and provide financial support for Rakib’s medical expenses and medicines. We consider it a privilege to participate in such humanitarian efforts, and under his guidance, the foundation will continue supporting people in need through similar initiatives,” he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
