LEADS Corporation Ltd., one of the country\u2019s leading fintech and information technology companies, has embarked on a new journey with renewed momentum after bringing all legal uncertainties and complexities to a definitive end.In July 2024, Western Group, one of Bangladesh\u2019s leading industrial conglomerates, acquired 100% of the shares of LEADS Corporation Ltd. However, an ongoing legal dispute regarding the ownership rights of its Core Banking Software (CBS), BankUltimus, created uncertainty among banks and financial institutions, according to a press release.The matter was finally resolved on July 27, 2026, when the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court, through a landmark verdict delivered by the full bench in Civil Appeal No. 46 of 2025, declared the lower court\u2019s auction and attachment orders invalid. As a result, the full ownership and intellectual property rights of the software were secured in favour of LEADS Corporation Ltd., effectively removing all legal obstacles to the company\u2019s future growth and operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Commenting on the development, Mr. Bashir Ahmed, Managing Director of Western Group, said: \u201cThe partnership between LEADS Corporation and Western Group will open new opportunities in Bangladesh\u2019s technology and fintech sectors. By developing and exporting internationally recognised software solutions, we will be able to generate foreign currency earnings and contribute significantly to increasing our country\u2019s foreign reserves\u201d.Mr. Nahfid Ahmed Anonno, Managing Director of LEADS Corporation Ltd. and Director of Western Group, stated: \u201cBy further strengthening our technological capabilities, we will be able to play an even more effective role in the digital transformation of Bangladesh\u2019s banking and financial sectors. We have already developed a new Universal Banking System called \u2018FingineX,\u2019 which offers advanced banking services and can compete with internationally recognised Core Banking Solutions.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most recently, Ansar-VDP Unnayan Bank signed an agreement with LEADS Corporation to implement their modern online Core Banking Solution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
