Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus has ordered the police to take initiatives now regarding their preparations and actions for holding peaceful elections.
He gave this instruction in a discussion meeting with the Home Affairs Advisor and other concerned parties on Wednesday, the Chief Advisor’s press wing said in a press release.
The meeting was held yesterday, Wednesday, to decide on the actions to be taken to fulfill the demands of the police in the meeting of the Chief Advisor with the field-level police officers on March 17.
In the meeting, the Chief Advisor gave several instructions to solve the problems of the police. These are – considering the issue of lifting the existing ceiling on risk allowance; taking initiatives to purchase 364 new pickups and 140 prisoner vans for the police; releasing money for the ongoing construction projects of the police whose work has been completed below 70 percent; releasing money for the acquisition of land of 65 police stations located in rented buildings and considering the issue of interest-free loans for the purchase of motorcycles for the ranks of SI and ASI of the police.
The Chief Advisor said that district police should be classified based on their performance results and arrangements should be made to improve the performance of those whose performance is relatively low.
