A three-day exhibition showcasing a wide range of popular Japanese reconditioned vehicles, titled ‘Barvida Car Expo 2026’, is set to begin on November 5 at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in the capital.

The exhibition, organised by the Bangladesh Reconditioned Vehicles Importers and Dealers Association (BARVIDA), will continue until November 7, offering visitors an opportunity to explore different brands and models under one roof and compare prices, features and facilities before making a purchase decision.

BARVIDA announced the event at a press conference on Saturday (October 31).

According to the organisers, one of the key objectives of the exhibition is to make the country’s automobile sector more dynamic and increase public awareness about the reconditioned vehicle market. By bringing together popular Japanese-imported vehicles at a single venue, the expo aims to make the vehicle selection and purchasing process easier for prospective buyers.

Popular Japanese models, including the Toyota Prius, Corolla Cross, Harrier, Noah, Voxy and Alphard, will be on display at the exhibition.

Visitors will be able to inspect the vehicles firsthand and learn about their technologies, features, specifications and prices. With vehicles from different dealers available at the same venue, buyers will have the opportunity to compare models based on their budgets and preferences before making informed decisions.

The event also aims to promote transparency and accessibility in vehicle trading while creating opportunities for direct interaction between buyers and sellers.

A special attraction of Barvida Car Expo 2026 will be an exhibition highlighting the 50-year history of Japanese automobiles in Bangladesh.

The special display will showcase the evolution of automobile technology in the country, from the early days of Japanese vehicles on Bangladeshi roads to the latest models. Photographs of popular Japanese cars from different periods, historic models and various aspects of technological advancement will also be presented.

The exhibition will highlight the long-standing contribution of Japanese vehicles to Bangladesh’s transport sector. It will trace the journey from classic cars, widely recognised for their reliability and elegance, to modern hybrid vehicles equipped with advanced technologies.

According to the organisers, Japanese vehicles have made significant contributions not only to the country’s transport sector but also to employment generation, investment, business and trade, as well as government revenue.

BARVIDA said the automobile industry extends far beyond vehicle imports and sales. It is closely connected with employment opportunities, entrepreneurship, investment, technological advancement and international trade relations.

Against this backdrop, the association hopes to make the reconditioned vehicle market more popular and dynamic through the expo, strengthen direct communication between buyers and sellers, and provide the general public with greater access to information about different vehicle models.

Other key objectives include raising public awareness about the quality, reliability and modern technologies of Japanese vehicles, highlighting their five-decade contribution to Bangladesh, and showcasing the sector’s role in the national economy and government revenue generation.

BARVIDA has invited automobile enthusiasts, prospective buyers, businesspeople, professionals, families, media representatives and people from all walks of life to visit the exhibition.

The organisers expect the event to offer a valuable opportunity for those planning to purchase a vehicle, compare the features and prices of different models, or learn more about modern hybrid technology and the history of Japanese automobiles in Bangladesh.

Visitors attending the three-day expo at ICCB from November 5 to 7 will be able to explore a variety of reconditioned vehicles at one location and choose models that match their preferences and purchasing capacity.
