Two unidentified men were beaten to death by a mob in Sadullapur upazila of Gaibandha early this morning, police said.According to law enforcement officials, the men were allegedly attempting to carry out a mugging when local residents caught them and assaulted them, leading to their deaths.The incident occurred around 4:00am at Khoddo Mohajidpur village.
Alim Uddin, officer‑in‑charge of Sadullapur Police Station, told The Daily Star, “Just before sehri today, residents chased and beat two individuals while they were allegedly attempting a mugging in front of a school in Khoddo Mojahidpur village. They died on the spot.”Police have since recovered the bodies and sent them to the hospital for autopsy, the OC added.
