The International Crimes Tribunal-1 today framed charges against former DSCC mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh, former minister Jahangir Kabir Nanak, and 26 others for crimes against humanity over the killing of nine people during the 2024 July uprising.
The victims included two students who were killed in Mohammadpur.
The tribunal, led by Justice Md Golam Mortuza Mozumder, framed charges against the accused, rejecting their discharge applications.
While framing the charges, the tribunal said the materials on record were adequate to move forward with the trial.
Other accused include former DMP commissioner Habibur Rahman, joint commissioner Biplob Kumar Sarker, former additional DIG Proloy Kumar Joarder, and the then additional DC of DMP’s Mohammadpur Zone Rawshanul Haque Shaikat.
