The Barishal District Chapter of Krishibid Institution Bangladesh (KIB) today accorded a floral reception to newly appointed Divisional Commissioner Mr. Khalil Ahmed at the Divisional Commissioner’s Office in Barishal.

The reception was held at around 12:00 PM on Tuesday, where members of the agriculturist community warmly welcomed the newly joined commissioner, who also belongs to an agriculturist family.
During the occasion, Divisional Commissioner Khalil Ahmed thanked the attending agriculturists and urged professionals of their respective sectors to contribute with skill and efficiency towards building an agriculture-friendly Bangladesh in line with the vision of the Honorable Prime Minister.The agriculturists also expressed gratitude to the government for appointing a professional agriculturist as the Divisional Commissioner of Barishal Division.

Among those present on behalf of KIB Barishal Chapter were its President and Deputy Director of the Department of Agricultural Extension, Ms. Mosammat Moriyom; Joint Secretary of KIB Barishal Chapter, General Secretary of Zia Parishad at Patuakhali Science and Technology University, and Director of the Office of International Student Affairs, Agriculturist Dr. Hachib Mohammad Tushar.Other attendees included Md. Shahidul Islam of the Department of Agricultural Extension, Additional Deputy Director (Horticulture) Md. Mamunur Rahman, Additional Deputy Director (Plant Protection) Chapal Krishna Nath, Additional Deputy Director (Crop) Shanti Ranjan Das, Food Inspector Uttam Bhowmik, Upazila Agriculture Officer of Barishal Sadar, and Agriculture Extension Officer Russell Monir, among others.
