A police operation in the Adabar area of the capital sparked tensions following an alleged attack on a bKash agent shop. According to reports, Officer-in-Charge (OC) Jahid of Adabar Police Station and Sub-Inspector (SI) Tarun were injured during the operation. Police have arrested four individuals in connection with the incident.
Local sources claimed that a group of miscreants attacked a bKash shop at around 10:30 a.m. A CCTV footage of the incident was later circulated on social media, drawing widespread attention.
Following the incident, police launched an operation to apprehend the suspects. Allegations suggest that a scuffle broke out when law enforcement officers attempted to detain suspected individuals on a road behind Saeed Bepari’s petrol pump in the Turag Housing area. During the confrontation, OC Jahid and SI Tarun reportedly sustained injuries.
The incident has triggered concern and discussion among local residents. Several community members expressed worries about the security situation and called for more effective measures to combat mugging and criminal activities in the area.
Speaking to journalists, Ibrahim Hawlader, a leader of the Jubo Dal’s Ward No. 30 unit, said that those responsible for such incidents should face strict legal action. He also stressed the need for tougher administrative measures to curb mugging, drug-related activities, and other crimes in the locality.
Many residents have urged the authorities to strengthen security and take swift action to maintain law and order in the area.
