Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Adabar Police Station, Zahidul Islam, has expressed his heartfelt gratitude after receiving a special gift sent on behalf of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
Speaking on the occasion, OC Zahidul Islam said, “I am an ordinary police officer. The gift sent by the Honorable Prime Minister is one of the most memorable moments of my life. It has further increased my sense of responsibility and commitment to my duties. Since joining the police force, I never imagined that I would receive such recognition from the head of the government.”
He extended his sincere thanks and appreciation to the Prime Minister on behalf of the entire police family and wished him a long life, good health, and continued success.
The OC reaffirmed his commitment to public service, saying, “I will continue to work responsibly to ensure the safety and security of the people. Even at the risk of my own life, I will always stand by the citizens of this country.”
He added, “We are all human beings, and that is our greatest identity. Serving people is our duty. Wherever I am posted, I will uphold the dignity of the police uniform and never compromise with my responsibilities.”
OC Zahidul Islam also recalled the incident of June 16, 2026, when he was attacked by a group of criminals while leading a police operation in a vacant plot adjacent to Delta Garments in the Turag Housing area under Adabar Police Station. He sustained injuries from locally made weapons during the attack and is currently undergoing medical treatment.
“Throughout my police career, I have served in different districts and encountered many criminals. However, this was the first time I became the direct target of a violent attack by offenders, which was deeply unfortunate,” he said.
The OC further emphasized that Bangladesh belongs to all its citizens and that future generations will inherit the country. He called upon the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies in combating drug trafficking, mugging, extortion, juvenile delinquency, and other social crimes to help build a safer society.
