Staff Reporter : A grand Project Kick-off Meeting marking the official commencement of the implementation of a modern Online Core Banking Solution (CBS) at Ansar-VDP Unnayan Bank was recently held at a prestigious restaurant in Dhaka. The event was attended by senior officials from Ansar-VDP Unnayan Bank and LEADS Corporation Limited, the software implementation partner.
Representing Ansar-VDP Unnayan Bank were Managing Director Mr. Mir Mofazzal Hossain, Deputy Managing Director Mr. Sachindra Nath Samaddar, General Manager (Accounts & Audit) Mr. Md. Alauddin, General Manager (Operations) Mr. Md. Atikul Islam, along with approximately 30 senior officials of the Bank.
Representing LEADS Corporation Limited were Group Managing Director of Western Engineering Group Mr. Bashir Ahmed, Chairman of LEADS Corporation Limited Mr. Nagir Ahmed Apurbo, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mr. Anisur Rahman Khan, Chief Operating Officer (COO) Mr. Giash Uddin Sikder, General Manager, Software Services Division Mr. Mir Faizul Haque, together with other senior officials of the company.
The programme commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by the welcome address delivered by Mr. Anisur Rahman Khan, Chief Executive Officer of LEADS Corporation Limited. In his speech, he expressed his sincere gratitude to the Board of Directors and the Management of Ansar-VDP Unnayan Bank for placing their trust in LEADS and selecting the company as the implementation partner for the Bank’s Core Banking Solution.
Following the welcome address, Mr. Hasan Mahmud, Head of the ICT Division of Ansar-VDP Unnayan Bank, and Mr. Mir Faizul Haque, Head of the Software Services Division of LEADS Corporation Limited, jointly presented the overall project implementation plan to the participants. Their presentation covered the project scope, implementation timeline, key milestones, implementation phases, and the respective roles and coordination mechanisms of both organisations.
In his address, Mr. Mir Mofazzal Hossain, Managing Director of Ansar-VDP Unnayan Bank, highlighted the importance of an online Core Banking System in today’s banking environment. He stated that the implementation of the project would make the Bank’s operations faster, more secure, more transparent, and more customer-centric. He further mentioned that the Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP) is the country’s largest disciplined and well-organized force, with approximately 6.1 million members. The implementation of the modern Online Core Banking Solution (CBS) will open a new era of advanced, accessible, and technology-driven banking services for this vast member community.
In his closing remarks, Mr. Bashir Ahmed, Group Managing Director of Western Engineering Group, expressed his sincere appreciation to the Board of Directors and the Management of Ansar-VDP Unnayan Bank for their confidence in LEADS. He stated that LEADS has been delivering advanced technology-driven banking solutions in Bangladesh for many years and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to implementing the Core Banking Solution successfully within the stipulated timeframe while maintaining the highest quality standards. He also expressed his confidence that this partnership would become a significant milestone in advancing the digital transformation of Bangladesh’s banking sector.
It is noteworthy that the Core Banking Solution (CBS) developed by LEADS Corporation Limited is currently being used successfully by 13 renowned public and private sector banks across Bangladesh.
