A debate competition was held on Wednesday at the Kazi Azhar Ali Auditorium of the Boys’ Branch of Mohammadpur Preparatory School and College, organized by the Preparatory Debating Club. The event aimed to develop students’ logical reasoning, presentation skills, and ability to express informed opinions on contemporary issues.

Dinesh Chandra Saha, Vice Principal (Boys’ Branch) of Preparatory School and College, attended the event as the Chief Guest. Khaled Mosharraf, Vice Principal (Boys’ Branch, English Version), was present as the Special Guest. The event was chaired by Madal Deb Barman, Moderator of the Preparatory Debating Club.

The motion for the final debate was: “This House believes that private ownership of artworks considered culturally or historically significant should be prohibited.”

The enthusiastic participation of the students and their well-reasoned arguments made the competition lively and engaging. The Rebel Crows emerged as the champions, while Harvest became the runners-up.

The organizers said that similar initiatives will continue in the future to encourage debate culture among students and help develop their leadership skills.
