Jagannath University Central Students’ Union election will be held on Dec 22

The Election Commission has announced that the Jagannath University Central Students’ Union election will be held on December 22.

Chief Election Commissioner Prof Dr Mostafa Hasan announced the schedule at a press conference at the university’s Teachers’ Lounge at 2:30pm today.

According to the schedule, the draft voter list will be published tomorrow. Objections and settlements regarding the list will take place from November 9 to 11, followed by the final voter list on November 12.

Nomination forms will be distributed between November 13 and 17, and submission of nomination papers will be accepted on November 17 and 18. Scrutiny of the nomination papers will be held on November 19 and 20, and the preliminary list of candidates will be published on November 23. Objections and settlements related to candidacies will be handled between November 24 and 26.

Candidates will undergo dope tests between November 27 and 30. The final candidate list will be published on December 3. Withdrawal of nominations will be allowed from December 4 to 8, with the list of withdrawn candidates published on December 9.

Candidates will be allowed to campaign from December 9 to 19.

Voting will take place on December 22, followed by vote counting on the same day. The results are expected to be announced by December 23.

CEC Hasan did not take any questions from journalists after announcing the schedule.
