The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has raised the retail price of a 12kg liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinder by Tk 387, bringing it to Tk 1,728 from Tk 1,341 last month.The increase represents a month-on-month hike of about 28.9 percent.BERC Chairman Jalal Ahmed announced the new prices at a press conference today.Under the revised pricing, the commission has set LPG at Tk 144 per kg.Consequently, cylinder prices across different sizes — from 5.5kg to 45kg, will range between Tk 792 and Tk 6,482.
The new rates will take effect immediately, the regulator said.
BERC adjusts LPG prices each month in line with fluctuations in Saudi CP market prices and changes in exchange rates.
