8th National Conference and Annual General Meeting of Bangladesh Thyroid Society Held Emphasis placed on education, innovation, and modern technology in thyroid care

The 8th National Conference and Annual General Meeting of the Bangladesh Thyroid Society (BTS) was held in the capital, emphasizing modern diagnosis, advanced treatment methods, and new innovations in medical science for thyroid diseases.

The day-long conference took place on Friday (October 9, 2026) at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in the capital. Organized under the theme “Thyroid Care: Through Education, Innovation, and Intervention,” the conference highlighted various aspects of modern thyroid treatment, scientific advancements, research, and healthcare quality improvement.

Chief Whip of the National Parliament, Nurul Islam Moni, MP, attended the event as the chief guest. Special guests included Prof. Dr. Harun Al Rashid, President of Doctors Association of Bangladesh; Prof. Dr. M. A. Karim, Chief Advisor of Bangladesh Thyroid Society; and Prof. Dr. A. K. Azad Khan, President of Diabetic Association of Bangladesh.

The event was presided over by Prof. Dr. A K M Fazlul Bari, President of the Bangladesh Thyroid Society and Director of the National Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Allied Sciences (NINMAS), Dhaka.

The conference featured various scientific sessions, including discussions on modern diagnosis and treatment of thyroid diseases, recent medical developments, scientific paper presentations, and a poster session. Doctors and relevant experts exchanged their experience and research-backed knowledge while discussing the application of modern technology and innovative methods in thyroid care.

According to the organizers, such conferences will play a vital role in enhancing doctors’ professional skills, raising public awareness about thyroid diseases, and ensuring better healthcare for patients. They also expressed hope that this event will further strengthen the development of the country’s thyroid treatment system, expand research, and boost collaboration among experts.
