Crime, Extortion and Juvenile Gangs Must Be Eliminated Through Joint Efforts: Bobby Hajjaj

At an exchange meeting organized in the Chand Uddan area of Mohammadpur to combat terrorism, extortion, land grabbing, and juvenile gangs, State Minister for Education Bobby Hajjaj emphasized that law enforcement agencies, journalists, and the general public must work together to eradicate crime from society.

Speaking as the chief guest, Bobby Hajjaj expressed his firm commitment to identifying and bringing the godfathers behind juvenile gangs under the law. He said that those operating behind these criminal groups must be exposed and punished to ensure public safety.Among those present at the meeting were Ward No. 33 BNP leader M.A. Mannan Hossain, Senior Vice President of Dhaka Metropolitan North Swechchhasebak Dal Liton Mahmud Babu, Convener of Mohammadpur Thana Chhatra Dal and Vice President of Dhaka Metropolitan West Chhatra Dal Md. Bashir Ullah Bashir, Mohammadpur Thana Sramik Dal leader Rubel Hawlader, along with leaders and activists from various affiliated organizations.

Officials from Mohammadpur Police Station also attended the event, including the Officer-in-Charge (OC), Inspector Mosbah, Investigation Officer Rafik, the Operations Officer, and other police personnel. Local social worker Suman Mia and a large number of residents also participated in the discussion.During his speech, Bobby Hajjaj announced that initiatives are underway to establish a new police station in the Mohammadpur-Basila area. He urged journalists and police officials to prepare a list of the real criminals involved in juvenile gang activities and submit it to him for necessary action.

He further stated that several development projects, including improvements in electricity, gas supply, and canal renovation, would be implemented gradually in the area. According to him, public participation alongside elected representatives is essential for the successful implementation of these initiatives.Local residents and homeowners raised concerns about the increasing activities of juvenile gangs, claiming that normal movement in the area has become difficult. They also expressed fears regarding the safe use of mobile phones and security on public roads.

Responding to the residents, Bobby Hajjaj assured them that all problems would be addressed with collective cooperation. He said the goal is to transform Dhaka-13 into a modern, safe, and livable constituency.

He also stressed that no matter who the criminals are, their identities or affiliations are not important — eliminating terrorism and ensuring public security remain the top priorities.Speakers at the meeting called for a united social movement against terrorism, extortion, land grabbing, and juvenile gangs, while urging everyone to cooperate in building a peaceful and secure society.
